Synopsis: Almost 50 years after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and internment of Japanese living along the west coast of the United States, Congress passed the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. This act was popularly known as the Japanese American Redress Bill or Japanese Reparations Act. On August 10, 1988, with Senator Daniel Inouye and other Hawaii Congressional Members looking on, President Ronald Reagan signs the Japanese American Redress Bill into law.
