Synopsis: President Eisenhower addresses the nation from the White House Oval Office on the purpose of his three-week, eleven-nation, Peace and Friendship In Freedom tour.
President Eisenhower travels some 22,000 miles visiting Rome, Italy; Ankara, Turkey; Karachi, Pakistan where he watches a sword dance, attends a horse show and a cricket match. On to Kabul, Afghanistan and New Delhi, India where he speaks to the Parliament and receive an honorary PHD in Laws. Next stop Tehran, Iran where he meets with the Shah of Iran. He continues to Athens, Greece; Tunis, Tunisia (where he receives a horse), Paris, France, to meet with Charles DeGaulle, Harold Macmillan, and Konrad Adenauer on to Madrid, Spain; Casablanca, Morocco arriving back in Washington, DC to light the National Christmas tree.
