Synopsis: Alternative fuels under development and in use for producing energy are demonstrated and don't require oil or gas. Among the alternate sources of energy are coal, gasification, and liquefaction, oil shale, nuclear fission, and fusion, mini-hydro, geothermal, and ocean thermal, wind, and solar. Also the use of gasohol and alcohol as gasoline substitutes. The point is made that this wide range of energy alternatives will be required to insure the world adequate energy resources between now and that time when one or more scientific breakthroughs will provide an abundant and inexpensive supply of energy.
