Synopsis: Gives historical account of establishment of the Treasury department. Alexander Hamilton was the first Secretary of Treasury. The treasury was divided into six bureaus: Bureau of Mint, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Public Debt, Bureau of Accounts. Still pictures of Alexander Hamilton and George Washington.
Scenes include a rotary dial telephone, a telephone switchboard and telephone operators. Printing of money, moonshine still and arrest of moonshiners, custom inspectors at U.S. port of entry, bookkeeping and offices machines, U.S. Coast guard ships and planes. |
