War In Kashmir
The troubled United Nations is facing still another crisis. This one in disputed Kashmir. The UN Security Council meets on the problems that has brought India and Pakistan to a state of War. In 1949 the UN established a cease fire line after the two countries had fought over the disputed territory after gaining independence from Britain.

Now the Security Council votes 11 to 0 demanding that they withdraw their forces behind the line. Secretary General U Thant leaves for the scene of action to confer with leaders of both nations as the first pictures arrive here of the War area. Prisoners from both sides are shown. Refugees flee.

Hurricane 'Betsy' lashes Florida
Rising winds herald the appearance of the season's most undesirable visitor to Miami shores and the Florida Coast. The first major hurricane of the year follows an erratic course after lashing the Bahamas. When 'Betsy' finally hits Florida - from the Keys north to Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach with winds reaching a peak of 145 miles mph The damage done is in the millions...mostly from water, since 'Betsy' struck at high tide, driving the sea far inland. Boats sunk and buildings damaged.
