January 4, 1945, brief scenes of the largest convoy in the history of the Pacific on way to invasion of Luzon, Philippine Islands . Animated map shows route of invasion convoy to landing at Luzon. On January 9, 1945, the American 6th Army lands on beachheads on the Lingayen Gulf of Luzon, Philippine Islands and were met by cheering Filipino natives.
