Seabees - We Build, We Fight
The 6th Naval Construction Battalion were given the task of expanding and repairing Henderson Field on Guadalcanal. Various scenes of combat and action in WWII. Shows construction of airfield on Tinian in the Northern Marianas Islands that allowed the B-29 Superfortress to carry the war to the Japanese homeland.
The B-29 Bomber Enola Gay used this airbase to deliver the first atomic bomb dropped on Japan. Aerial view of mushroom cloud from atomic bomb dropped over Hiroshima Japan.
