British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt, and Soviet Leader Josef Stalin at the Yalta Conference in February 1945. Return of the Polish Government-in-Exile to Warsaw as Stalin had agreed. Polish leader Mikolajczyk and the rigged Polish parliamentary elections. Soviet Marshal Rokossowski inspecting troops as he assumes control of Poland ending all Polish independence in November 1949. In Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary, the pattern of Soviet domination and occupation continues as Communism forces out all other forms of Government. Stalin ignores the protest of Britain and the United States as he knows the West had demobilized and would not take military action. The take-over of Czechoslovakia by the Soviets or the Czech coup. In just five days the Communist took over the Czechoslovakia Government. Czech President Benes who was allowed to retire. Body of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk laying-in-state and crowds in mourning.

The Soviets efforts to create internal strife in Turkey was not of sufficient strength so the take-over of Turkey failed. In Greece the effort to spread Communism brought death and despair. To aid Greece and Turkey and stop the spread of Communism, U.S. President Truman appears before Congress in March 1947 asking for immediate aid be sent to Greece and Turkey.
