Paratroopers of the American 101st Airborne Division climb into Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) military transport planes. View from aircraft interior looking out at line of men moving forward to board aircraft. Cut to outside view, one paratrooper with British type leg pack of demolition supplies being assisted by other troopers into the aircraft. Shows 101st "Screaming Eagle" shoulder insignia on troopers.
This footage was shot at dusk, silhouettes of Pathfinder Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division and the 82nd Airborne Division marching across airfield and boarding aircraft. Shows the "serial" of three C-47 aircraft with recognition invasion markings or recognition invasion stripes carrying the Pathfinder Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division taking off. Shows "V formation" of the three "serials" in the first wave of pathfinder aircraft in flight.
