The New XP-55 Ascender Fighter Plane 1945
The XP-55 Ascender was a prototype fighter aircraft developed by Curtiss-Wright with US Air Corps goal of improving performance, armament and pilot visibility. Its unique features included rear-mounted engine, a twin tail, swept wings and a forward canards resulting in an interesting pusher-plane design.
