Engineers Blast River For Big Inch Oil Pipeline
Construction of the Big Inch oil pipeline from the Midwest to eastern points in the United States with engineers forced to cross many rivers. In this scene the Big Inch has another waterway to hurdle so they plant tons of dynamite and in a large explosion of water and mud blast a bed for the pipe beneath the river’s bottom.
Greek Navy Gets New Lend-Lease Warship
At the Washington Navy Yard, Greek sailors salute President Franklin D. Roosevelt as he comes to present the Royal Hellenic Navy with a new warship. An honor guard sees to the lowering of the Stars and Stripes and the raising of the National flag of Greece, staunch ally of Democracy. Greek sailors man the ship. Men who remember the invasion of their country are now given a weapon with which to fight their Nazi oppressors, confident that one day Greece shall be made free.

Argentine Army Revolt Against Their Pro-Axis President
Revolution ignites in the Argentine as the Argentine Army revolts to remove pro-Axis President Ramon Castillo. Moving into Buenos Aires at dawn, army units take over government buildings in a dramatic move against their President and his administration. The unpopular president is forced to resign due to his pro-axis sentiments.
Artillery units command strategic points throughout the Capital, the third largest city in the Western hemisphere, as the military wins control. The most serious violence occurrs at the Navy School for Mechanics during a 45-minute machine gun battle. In the general confusion and rioting, 40 people were killed. By afternoon, the city is quiet. Army leaders, General Arturo Rawson and General Pedro Pablo Ramirez, appear before the populace gathered in Plaza de Mayo.
