German Field Marshall Wilhelm Keitel and German General Admiral Hans-Georg von Friedeburg sign unconditional surrender documents. Other signers: Marshall Georgy Zhukov of the Red Army, American General Felix Sparks of the 8th Air force, British Air Marshall Arthur Tedder, and French General De las Degenty. The war in Europe has ended.

Lt. General Erich Brandenberger of the German 19th Army signs surrender documents in Innsbruck, Austria, American General E.H. Brooks ratifies another victory. German Admiral Karl Donitz surrenders his U-Boat fleet.
