Scaled-Down Target Planes Now Radio-Controlled
At about 7 feet long these miniature target planes are under going final checks at an Army airbase. Launched from a catapult, these now radio-controlled target planes allow anti-aircraft gunners to hone their skills. The planes fitted with a parachute inside the fuselage can safely parachute to the ground after being hit where it is collected, patched up and re-used again. Note: Though not realized at the time, this is the starting history of the modern reconnaissance drone we see today.
