1920: Franklin Roosevelt began to take an active role in his Party's affairs. Democratic National Convention in San Francisco, California July 1920. Roosevelt stumped the country preaching the ideas of Woodrow Wilson and becoming involved in campaigning for his party. Scenes of Roosevelt's family, wife Eleanor and children. Roosevelt back home to speak with his neighbors and shake hands with people that came from miles around.
