U.S. Coast Guard - Oceanographic Studies
The USCGC Evergreen, a seagoing buoy tender, in the Greenland area near the Arctic Circle, July and August 1963. Three Oceanographic Buoys were set across Smith Sound. Shows the Northwind in 1964 establishing an unmanned oceanographic station in the deep waters adjacent to Fairway Rock in the Bering Straits.
