Guards Held Hostage During Prison Riots
Rioting inmates at Rahway, N.J. and Jackson, MI barricade themselves in their cells in protest. Most serious rioting takes place at Southern Michigan Prison, where 200 convicts are holding guards as hostages and make shambles of their cellblock.
