Ramon Magsaysay Landslide Victory In Philippines Election

After whirlwind campaigns by incumbent President Elpidio Quirino and Nationalist Ramon Magsaysay, almost four million Filipinos flock to the polls and return a landslide victory for Magsaysay, who as former Minister of Defense, became a scourge to Communist-led Huks in the islands. Ten were killed and scores injured in the course of election violence.
