President Harry S. Truman Criticizes Russian Dictator Joseph Stalin
President Harry S. Truman, who once said I Like Old Joe, tells the Society of Business Magazine Editors that the Russian leader is a dictator, just like other dictators of history. Says Joseph Stalin also believes in the enslavement of the individual.
Korean War Continues
U.N. forces under General Matthew Ridgway probe at the Red lines to keep the communist hordes off balance. Air and land bombardment harass enemy lines along the central front. Spotter planes fly over the lines directing artillery fire, and patrols probe weak spots in the lines.
B-36 Peacemaker Bomber Flies Non-Stop From England To Texas
Six Covair B-36 bombers land at Carswell Base in Texas after non-stop flight from England. The big planes capable of carrying atomic weapons were in air over thirty hours.
F-94 Starfire Jet Interceptors Production Increased
New contracts boost production of speedy radar equipped F-94 jet interceptors for continental defense. As planes roll off Lockheed assembly line, they are given test flights.
Heavyweight Boxer Enters The Wrestling Ring
Ex-heavyweight boxing contender Tony Galento makes his wrestling debut, during a rip-snorting free for all with three other wrestlers. Plenty of action, and laughs.
Fox River Grove IL Hosts Ski Jumping Championship
Famed Norse Hill is the scenic setting for the 45th International Championships in Fox River Grove, Illinois. Spectacular angles as the ski-birds take off the high slope and leap into space.
