Synopsis: The Captain of the Battleship USS Missouri agrees to an optional task of running up a test range strewn with acoustical cables designed to identify ships using their unique acoustical signature and runs aground on a mud a mud shoal. Stuck for two weeks the battleship is finally freed on the third attempt by a group of tugs where it then heads for repairs in a drydock effectively ending the naval career of its commander Captain William D.
