Admiral William Bull Halsey Jr. Celebrates WWII Japanese Surrender
After British fleet units add their weight to Admiral Halsey’s Third Pacific Fleet, news of the Japanese surrender is received. Admiral Halsey entertains Sir Admiral Rawlings and staff aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. Following a round of toasts, “Bull” Halsey serves up a Japanese cake with plenty of gestures and pantomime, that are his and his alone.
