France Unveils New Jet Fighter & Fertile Myrtle Launches Rocket Plane
France unveils its SNCase (Sud-Est) SE-5000 Baroudeur aircraft. The French unveil a new fighter interceptor, the "Baroudeur", which is launched from a trailer and lands on skids. It is independent of airfields.
In the United States Lt. Colonel Marion Carl flew a NACA (later became NASA) Douglas D-558-2 (D-558-II) Skyrocket experimental high-speed aircraft to an altitude of 83,235 feet, a new record. The Skyrocket aircraft was launched from a Navy P2B-1S mother ship nicknamed "Fertile Myrtle", the Navy's version of the B-29.
Again France makes aviation headlines with its new school for precision and stunt flying. The camera gives you a pilot's eye view of the aerobatics. Point of view (pov) of stunt pilot doing aerobatics.
