UN Rejects Motion To Censure Israel After Six-Day War
The United Nations Security Council rejects Russia's demand that Israel be censured, branded an aggressor, and that her troops withdraw to boundaries before the Six-Day War between Israel and the United Arab Republic UAR. An emergency session of the General Assembly, which Soviet Premier Kosygin may attend, is requested by Russia. In Israel the first Israeli ship, the freighter Dolphin, enters the Gulf of Aqaba. Scene of the Israeli flag waving in the breeze.
Search And Destroy Mission Against Vietcong Bunkers
Heavy artillery bombardment of Vietcong bunker positions near Da Nang Airbase. US Army and Marine troops flush out Vietcong bunkers in a search and clear mission, Explosives destroy underground VietCong installations, with heavy enemy casualties. Scenes of dead Vietcong after bombardment.

Thurgood Marshall, a black civil rights lawyer, becomes the first African-American appointed to the Supreme Court. He replaces the resigning Justice Tom Clark, President Johnson calls him most qualified.
Reies Lopez Tijerina Leads Raid Against New Mexico Courthouse
Six Mexican-Americans are imprisoned after a wild west, armed raid on the Rio Arriba County courthouse in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. The rebel band, led by Reies Lopez Tijerina, some of whom are still at large, claim territory by ancient Spanish land-grants. Some 20 people were briefly held hostage after the raid.
Board Of Directors Meeting At Will Rogers Memorial Hospital NY
The annual Board of Directors meeting of the Will Rogers Memorial Fund meets at the upstate New York hospital named for the immortal humorist, This year's campaign goal for the hospital, which serves the film, radio, and TV industries, is set at 1.5 million dollars.

For the first time in 44 years, an American team in an American car win the 24-hour Le Mans Grand Prix endurance auto race, Indianapolis 500 winner, A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney team in a Ford Mark Four Ford Mark IV to win, setting distance and average speed records.
