President Lyndon B. Johnson Forecasts Booming Prosperity
In a speech to 5,000 members of the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington President Lyndon Johnson predicts a 30 billion dollar profit for American business this year. His speech, spiced with quips touched on Foreign Aid, the Railroad Strike and the Chamber itself and was interrupted by applause and laughter 61 times.
Boston Celtics Win 6th Straight Title
Taking on the San Francisco Warriors for the National Basketball Association Title, the Celtics roll on to a 105 to 99 victory. They win also the distinction of becoming the first team in a major sport to take a title six times in a row. Yes. The Yankees have won five World Series straight, but half-dozen times yet to come, So, a salute to the Boston Celtics. A fine first.

It's getting to be a habit with the Toronto Maple Leafs to skate off with the Stanley Cup. Discus Thrower Al Oerter Breaks Own Record
At the Mt. San Antonio Relays at Walnut, California, Al Oerter break his own record in the Discus throw. Discus throwers spin their missiles against the wind. For such throwers like Al Oerter, that's good. So against a lovely wind in Walnut, Oerter threw the discus 206 Feet - 6 inches against the fellows he will have to beat in Tokyo next October.
