Conflict In The Congo As Katanga Troops Fight UN Forces
New violence flares in the unhappy Congo as United Nations troops move in force against rebellious elements in the Katanga Province. The troops of the secessionist province vow to follow a "scorched earth" policy and fight to the end. A fighter escort now accompanies U.S. cargo planes bringing in supplies.
