Early in 1917 Germany announced her intentions to engage in unrestricted submarine warfare. Shows freighter sinking after a German U-Boat attack in WWI. President Woodrow Wilson looking out of window of his White House office. German submarine (U-Boat) uses deck gun to sink a freighter. President Wilson at once broke off diplomatic relations with Germany. Shows President Woodrow Wilson at his White House desk. Image of the dome of the U.S. Capitol Building with American flag in FG. On April 6, 1917 President Wilson appeared before Congress and asked Congress to declare war on Germany. Large poster reads " War Is Declared".
