Super Blockbuster Bomb - The Grand Slam
The Grand Slam earthquake bomb, nicknamed "Ten Ton Tess", was used to destroy a railway bridge over the Bielefeld Viaduct that connected Germany to the Ruhr. The 12,000 Lb. earthquake bomb, the "Tallboy", is compared to the 22,000 Lb. "Grand Slam" bomb. Shows RAF Lancaster bombers in flight to the Bielefeld Viaduct target. Shows explosions of 12,000 lb. Tallboy bombs dropped on the railway bridge over the Bielefeld Viaduct followed by the massive explosion of the Grand Slam bomb that demolished six spans of the railway bridge.
