Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. A Norwegian life-boat crew victorious in the fifth annual renewal of the International Life-Boat Race as the oarsmen from the S.S. Bergensfjord sweep through the Narrows and over the two-mile course to the finish line in 24 minutes and 12 seconds to win the Gold Cup of the Neptune Association. The banks of New York Bay are lined with 100,000 spectators as the twelve skiffs slide past the starter's mark and pull into the choppy bay waters.
