Henry "Hank" Cieman, world's Racewalking (Race-Walking) champion, leads a field of 91 in the 31-mile walk in Atlantic City New Jersey from Egg Harbor to the noted seashore resort. The Toronto athlete completes the race in 5 hours, 24 minutes and 10 seconds. He sets a swift swinging pace from the start and is never headed. Ernest Crosbie, of Baltimore, Md., valiantly tries to overtake the leader, but his best efforts get only second place money.
