Driving Miss England II at a grueling pace the English sportsman Kaye Don flashes across the finish line a mile ahead of his American rivals in the first heat of the speedboat classic. The daredevil Briton forces his powerful craft around the dangerous course at an average rate of 89,913 miles per hour, leaving George and Gar Wood in his wake.
