Vietnam Protest, Flag Burning And A Hippie Love-In
In London, 4000 demonstrators organized by the Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament, scuffles with police in a protest of British support for U.S. action in the Vietnam war. Shows anti-American protest demonstration at Madrid University. The student protestors at Madrid University burn an American flag. Shows burning of American flag. In Belle Isle Park Detroit Michigan over 4000 people stage an "Anti-Hate Rally". These "Love-Ins" or Hippie peacenik gatherings are focused on meditation, love, music, and psychedelic drugs. It was the "Summer of Love" for the Hippie movement.
U.S. Bombers Blast Targets In North Vietnam
U.S. fighter-bomber jets plaster North Vietnam communication and boat repair facilities in some of the heaviest raids of the war. Air Force jets strike close to Hanoi and the ground war moves to the North Vietnam border.
Moscow May Day Parade
Hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers and citizens gather in Moscow's Red Square for the annual May Day parade. Chinese diplomats walk out during criticism of Red China's Peking regime. No new Russian weapons are shown.
Second Barrage Of Tornadoes Rip Through Minnesota
Aftermath of damage and destruction as Minnesota is rocked a second time by a barrage of ten tornadoes. Thousands of homes, buildings, and farms are destroyed. Sixteen persons are killed. No warning was sounded, Property damage in the millions.
King Constantine In First Public Appearance Following Military Coup
Young King Constantine of Greece makes his first public appearance at Orthodox Easter religious and civic ceremonies following the Government of Greece takeover by a group of right-wing Army Officers. He cracks eggs with "Evzones", historical light infantry and mountain units of the Greek Army. King Constantine expresses a desire for swift return to parliamentary rule in Greece.

Elvis Presley weds. Elvis Presley, 32, married (marries) Priscilla Ann Beaulieu in posh wedding ceremony at a Las Vegas hotel, Elvis, the richest of the rock and roll singers, met his bride in Germany, while in the Army.
College Football: Alabama Crimson Tide Now Includes Black Athletes
Integration comes to the Crimson Tide football squad, rated third, nationally, last year. African-Americans Andrew Pernell, Jerome Tucker, and Dock Rone were football player "walk-ons" at the University of Alabama in 1967 ending segregation of the Crimson Tide football team.
Junior Welterweight Championship Boxing Match
Former US, Marine Paul Fuji takes the World's Junior Welterweight title from Champion Sandro Lopopolo of Italy in a bout in Tokyo. Paul Fuji was the first Japanese-American to hold a world boxing crown.
