Six-Day War In Middle East Forces Changes
At a special session of the United Nations (UN), Soviet Premier Kosygin demands troop withdrawal in the Middle East to original boundaries before the Six Day War, return of all captured territory, and condemns the U.S. for allegedly encouraging Israel.
At Camp David Maryland Austrian Prime Minister Harold Houck and Mrs Houck meets with President Johnson. Historic footage of the reunification of City of Jerusalem after the Arab-Israeli Six Day War in 1967. The 19-year old barrier or wall dividing the City of Jerusalem is demolished. Shows pilgrimage of Orthodox Jews flocking to the Wailing Wall (Western Wall).
U.S. Steps Up Air War Over North Vietnam
U.S. Fighter-Bombers step-up the air war over North Vietnam, blasting railroad lines, power stations, supply camps, and enemy convoys. It's the heaviest single day of air attacks since last November. Shows U.S. aircraft dropping napalm bombs.
NASA Tests Future Rocket Engines
At an Aerojet rocket test facility near Homestead Florida there were three static test firings of the AJ-260 solid fuel (propellant) rocket engine. Near burnout during the SL-3 test firing the nozzle of the gigantic rocket-engine breaks loose, shooting flames hundreds of feet in the air, rattling cameras over two miles away, and raining debris over a wide area.
