Shows William A. Harriman praising the efforts of the Russian people after arriving in Russia to study the Russian defense and prospect of Russian resistance to the German invasion of their country. VIPs include: Marshal Simyon Timoshenko and Marshal Somyon Budenny. Audio of President Roosevelt pledging support of America.
Shows the German invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, German artillery guns firing, German tanks advancing, general mobilization of all Russian military personnel. Shows Josef Stalin appealing to the Russian people, audio of translation to English. Shows destruction of everything as the Russian Army retreats denying the advancing German Army of any Russian food, shelter, or fuel. Russian guerrilla units formed. Russia exercised a scorched earth policy as dictated by Stalin.

Shows mobilization of the Russian civilian workers. Shows workers in the factories, in the coal mines, scientist in the laboratories, scenes of steel mills producing steel, women working in the factories to aid the war effort, women training to drive farm tractors, Russian children (kids) working in the fields, Russian boys and old men on top of sentry posts watching for German planes and parachutes. Harvesting grain with machines and by hand. Russian people erecting defenses and digging tank traps and barriers. Shows a Russian battalion of women fighting at the front, women working to support the front line troops with letters and packages.

Shows the Russian Cossacks training home guard calvary to attack on horseback with swords. Donating blood at hospitals and sent to front line troops with a note. Siberia steps up production of raw materials, clears the way to build railroads to deliver the war materials, pipelines are built, oil wells drilled, new steel mills, workers in coal mine, copper mine, Siberia contributes labor and war materials to defect the Germans.
