The sudden release of 3,190 American prisoners-of-war held by the Reds in North Korea brings hope to the families of the men that they may soon be returned. As the names are flashed into the Pentagon and thence into U.S. homes, heart-warming scenes unfold. Mrs. William Dean, wife of the missing General, pins her telegram on the Christmas Tree, while others say prayers of thanks and express their joy in words.
SUNKEN SHIP BLASTED TO MINIMIZED NAVATION HAZARD
The sunken Navy Hospital Ship 'Benevolence', sunk during a collision last year, is blasted by salvage experts as a menace to navigation. Tons of high explosives do the job.
