ENGLAND A three-train collision in a London suburb kills at least 95, injures over two hundred, when two expresses smash into a commuters local, at the rush hours’ peak.

EISENHOWER LANDSLIDE
America goes to the polls and the outcome is a resounding victory for General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Prominent voters include ex-President Herbert Hoover, President and Mrs. Truman, and the two candidates, among many others. Up-to-the-minute returns are broadcast to overseas GI’s and as the ballots flood in, the trend becomes apparent. GOP headquarters is a scene of restrained, but swelling jubilation, and gloom mounts among Stevenson supporters. The climactic moment key states fall to Ike, and Stevenson concedes. At Republican headquarters, a tremendous ovation greets the president-elect and our next First Lady. The campaign is over. After 20 years, the Republican party is once again in power, and General Dwight D. Eisenhower asks for the support of all Americans in the tasks that lie ahead.
