THE CHINA CRISIS
The question of Formosa is in the headlines. As Nationalist troops suffer further reverses in China, and many seek refuge in French Indo-China, the question of American aid for Chiang Kai Shek on Formosa comes to a climax. Madame Chiang, on the eve of her departure from the U.S., says that China will fight on. In Washington, State Secretary Acheson tells the newsreels that the U.S. is not ''going to get involved militarily on the island of Formosa."

Hot or cold? That's the question in both Canada and the United States, where freak weather has turned winter playgrounds into balmy Spring paradises, and vice versa. NEW YORK The trial of Alger Hiss, accused by Whittaker Chambers of perjury, came to a dramatic end as the jury returns a verdict of guilty. He faces ten years in prison.
