General Eisenhower, opening the Crusade for Freedom in Denver issues a ringing demand for an end to politics and business as usual. The Crusade for Freedom aims at a chain of radio stations ringing the Iron Curtain Nations.

DARLINGTON, S.C. The stock car boys really go to town in a five hundred mile grind for $25,000 in prize money. A number of them wind up on their backs.

WASHINGTON Members of the Council of Motion Pictures Organizations meet with Pres. Truman to pledge the cooperation of the film industry during wartime. The offer is gratefully accepted by Mister Truman.

FLAMES GUT HOUSING PROJECT
CANADA A wall of flame sweeps at night through a multi-million dollar housing project under construction in the Montreal suburbs. Twenty apartment units are gutted during the spectacular blaze.

United Nations forces in Korea are preparing to go on the offensive, promises General Walker. One big reason, too, for the turning of the tide are the B-29 air-raids on North Korean installations. The mighty Superforts continue to pour their lethal loads on enemy factories. Transport planes drop safe conduct passes that more and more communists are using to escape death. And communist wounded receive humane treatment in UN hospitals.

NEW YORK Foreign Ministers of Great Britain and France meet with State Secretary Arche-son to confer on the momentous problems confronting Western Europe, as the threat of communist aggression continues to mount.

TYPHOON LASHES JAPAN
OSAKA, KOBE More than 250 persons are dead in wake of severe typhoon that lashed the mainland, demolished thousands of homes and casting ships up on land like match-sticks.

JOHNSON OUT, MARSHALL IN
WASHINGTON The former Chief of Staff and one-time State Secretary, George C. Marshall, takes over as Defense chief following the resignation of Louis Johnson. New task for an old soldier.

TRUMAN GETS UN FLAG
WASHINGTON Two girls representatives of the 4-H Clubs present the first of homemade United Nations flags to President Truman. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt takes part in the ceremony.

REINDEER ROUND-UP
CANADA Two hundred miles above the Arctic Circle, a reindeer round-up takes place. Eskimo cowhands have been trained to corral the half-wild creatures, as part of a Dominion plan to preserve the herds.

LAMOTTA RETAINS TITLE IN CLOSE FIGHT
DETROIT Trailing on points to Laurent Dauthuille, the Frenchman who beat him last year, and with only thirteen seconds left to go in the final round, Jake LaMotto, the Bronx Bull, crashes through and kayo's his worthy foe to retain his middleweight title.

KOREA With a second force going ashore near Seoul to clamp a giant nut-cracker on the Korean communists, United Nations forces strike back at a retreating foe. American and South Korean troops strike from the bridgehead area, following a spectacular battle along the Naktong River.

FIRST PICTURES .... INCHON INVASION!
KOREA First actual films of the huge amphibious assault at Inchon and the drive on the capital city of Seoul. Marine assault forces swarm ashore at Wolmi Island following a pre-invasion bombardment by fleet units and planes. General MacArthur goes ashore soon after the landing to visit the front lines and confer with his top military chiefs. Big "Patton" tanks spearhead the push on Seoul, vital bastion whose capture would seal off the escape route of North Korean Red armies along the Pusan beach-head.

UN ASSEMBLY CONVENES: HEAR ACHESON PEACE PLEA
NEW YORK Meeting at a time of "decision" for the United Nations and the world, a time when UN forces in Korea are fighting for victory against a foe using 1950 Soviet arms and equipment, the UN Assembly hears U. S. State Secretary Acheson plead for a moral peace and forthright action to save that peace for generations to come.

N.Y. N.J. DEFENSE PACT
NEW YORK To prepare for civil defense measures affecting New York's teeming millions, New York and New Jersey entered into a joint preparedness program for atomic defense. Gen. Lucius Clay explains the basic purpose of the pact.

After the brilliant landing operation at Inchon and the attack on Seoul, Korea's historic capital, U.N. forces take the initiative on all fronts and forge a ring of steel around Red Koreans. Everywhere on the allied beach head the Reds are on the retreat as the U.N. pincers close.

DR. BUNCHE GETS NOBEL PEACE AWARD
Doctor Ralph Bunche, mediator in the Palestine war receives the 1949 Nobel peace award for his work also the tribute of his small son.

PLANES TO ITALY
BRENDISI Forty fighter planes arrive in Italy aboard the U.S.S. Mindoro. They are the first shipment under the Military assistance program and are officially presented by Ambassador Dunn.

NEW GIMMICKS
GERMANY The German mind continues to be inventive. A self starting garden spade, an ingenious bicycle tire pump and a high frequency radio auto starter are a few of the gadgets they have devised.

U.N. FORCES IN KOREA DRIVE PAST 38th PARALLEL
KOREA Hard on the heels of Gen. MacArthur's surrender ultimatum to the Korean communists, South Korean troops storm across the 38th Parallel in a drive to end the war. In Seoul, meanwhile, mopping-up operations continue against last-ditch Red opposition, and on other fronts, victorious Allies press the offensive. Australian and American fliers hammer home relentless attacks against entrenched Reds in the rugged mountains.

CRUSADE FOR FREEDOM
UNIVERSAL CITY, CA. Participating in the launching of the picture industry's role in the Crusade for Freedom, dynamic campaign against communist imperialism, U-I Production Chief William Goetz, and Screen Actor's Guild president Ronald Reagan deliver dramatic appeal for action.

THE WORLD SERIES
YANKS WIN FIRST TWO GAMES FROM PHILS
PHILADELPHIA Shibe Park, Philadelphia, and highlights of the first two games of the 1950 World Series. It's youth versus age, veterans versus upstart "Whiz Kids," with the veteran Yankees edging out victories in the two clashes. Brown's double and two long fly-balls count for the one-run edge in the first game for the Bronx Bombers. In the second, with the score tied up l-1 and going into extra innings, Joe Dimaggio tees off on pitcher Roberts and his homer wins for the Yanks.

ROUT IN KOREA
As United Nations forces take the offensive, operations reach the mop-up stage as fleeing Red scramble for the thirty-eighth parallel to form a new defense line. Prisoners by the thousands fall into Allied hands. Fleeing Reds also leave behind them their arms and ammunition.

PRISON RODEO
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS Billed as "Bad Men vs. Bad Cattle," the prison rodeo at Huntsville Penitentiary provides plenty of thrills for the inmates, when their buddies try their luck at riding buckin'-bronchos and rampagin' steers.

United Nation troops under the sanction of the General Assembly, press forward to end once and for all threats of aggression from Korean Reds. As they advance they find ghastly evidence of atrocities in which retreating Communists slaughtered twenty thousand South Koreans, including countless women and children.

Sweep Phillies Four Straight to Retain World Series Crown
NEW YORK The New York Yankees do it againó win their 13th World Series title, the sixth time they did it four straight. Highlights of the third and fourth games at Yankee Stadium, with the thrill plays of a closely-fought series. Behind young Whitey Ford, the Bronx Bombers win the fourth game, 5-2; while Philly error in 8th and Coleman's single in ninth give the Yanks victory margin in game No. Three.
