KNUDSEN SEES BIG WARPLANE OUTPUT
BUFFALO, N.Y. – A huge air fleet of 19,000 planes by 1942 is prophecied by Defense Chief William Knudsen during a visit to the Curtiss plant. Highlight of the tour is a demonstration by 400 M.P.H. pursuit planes!

BALTIMORE, MD. – Mr. Knudsen inspects the Glenn Martin plant builders of huge Navy bombers. Plans are underway to double the factory’s capacity.

England’s heroic defense against the German aerial armadas astounds the world. Despite terrible raids against London, in which even the King’s palace is not spared, Britain continues to stave off attacks.

Winston Churchill, England’s dynamic leader, and the King and Queen as well, inspect bomb damage in London following one of the city’s worst raids in history, to cheer hapless persons who have lost their homes and loved ones.

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Receiving an honorary L.L.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania at its bicentennial celebration, President Roosevelt says that only dictators fear a free election! He also inspects the Navy Yard here, where construction is being rushed on more warships for our Navy.

Amid scenes of indescribable wreckage, London keeps “thumbs up.” After a month of ceaseless bombardment, the city counts its dead and wounded and carries on. With the King and Queen helping to keep their spirits up, the people prepare to “do or die”!
