History-making scenes as Americans go to the polls and re-elect President Roosevelt to serve for a precedent-breaking third term! The President carries 40 states but the popular vote is much closer than it was four years ago.

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – The “Champ” casts his vote, along with members of his family. Later, at night, after most of the returns are in, the “First Family” receives well wishes from neighbors.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Wendell Willkie, dynamic Republican candidate whose “Crusade” won him more votes than any other losing candidate in the nation’s history, votes with Mrs. Willkie.
