RED HECKLING DISRUPTS U N.:
The most hectic session yet of the current historic meeting of the General Assembly. Khrushchev makes a vitriolic personal attack on a Philippine delegate, setting the pace for a disruptive outburst of heckling by his satellites that forces Assembly President Frederick Boland to cut short the session.

U.S. GIVES REFUGE TO CREWMAN FROM K's SHIP:
An Estonian crewman from Khrushchev's ship, the Baltika, now docked in New York, is granted sanctuary in America, and tells newsmen why he fled from the Soviet empire.

PIRATES WIN WORLD SERIES!
Highlights of the final and most thrilling game of a sensational World Series. Leading 7-4 at the top of tho eighth inning in the decisive 7th games, the Yankees lose their lead when the Pirates score 5 runs. In the nInth, the New Yorkers tie it up with two more runs, but when the Pirates come to bat again, Bill MazeroskI wraps up the ball game and the World Series with a hoMe run. IOWA EDGES WISCONSIN, 28-21:
A clash of titans at Iowa City, Iowa and Wisconsin, both unbeaten, in a grid thriller that sees them tied in the final seconda. With time running out, a 39-yard pass to the end zone is deflected, then caught by Sam Harris to give Iowa a stunning 28-21 victory.

ARMISTICE DAY- 25 years ago. At a time when totalitarian aggression menaced world peace, PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT led the nation in traditional ceremonies of rededication to America's ideals. Exclusive statements for the Newsreels are made by both Vice-President Richard M. Nixon and Senator John .F Kennedy, summing up reasons each feels himself best qualified for office of President of the United States. Both candidates are shown during important moments in their political careers.

Kennedy is seen receiving ovation of Democratic National Convention following his victory on the first ballot. Fourteen-years in Washington - six as Representative and eight as Senator - led to this event. He played an active role in Committees dealing with labor relations to foreign affairs. At home he shares family life with wife Jacqueline and daughter Caroline.

Nixon is hailed by Republican National Convention as successor to Eisenhower. In enlarged role as Vice-President he took part in Administration's deliberations and represented the President abroad. He and Khrushchev held publicized "kitchen debate" in Moscow. Father of two daughters, Tricia and Julie, he was accompanied by wife Pat on his campaign tours.

IOWA DOWNS PURDUE - 21-14: Iowa's high-riding Hawkeyes score their fifth straight victory, over Purdue's Boilermakers, on the strength of a fumble recovery and an 84-yard touchdown run by a third 3 string center Dayton Perry.

MEXICO HAILS IKE:
A high point of Ike's 9 day visit to Mexico comes in the border town of Ciudad Acuna where, with President Adolfo Lopez Mateos he receives a popular ovation on announcement of an international dam to be built nearby. Presented with the keys to the City, Ike says he'll keep them, and promises to return.

DE GAULLE TOURS FRANCE:
President Charles De Gaulle tours the South of France to rally popular support as his government faces its most crucial weeks. While on tour, he visits with Sir Winston Churchill, and Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco.

RACKMIL GETS LAUREL AWARD:
U-I President Milton Rackmil is voted the International Laurel Award by International Film buyers as the man who's done most for the industry in the past year, as U-I announces record net profits of nearly 6 million dollars.

EAGLES UPSET BROWNS:
In Cleveland, the Philadelphia Eagles dump the Browns from NFL leadership with a 31-29 upset victory, thanks to Bobby Walston's 38-yard field goal in the final 15 seconds.

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO

ELECTION DAY- 25 YEARS AGO. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT, Mrs. Roosevelt, and F.D.R.'s mother go to the polls at Hyde park as America returns Mr. Roosevelt to office by a popular landslide. EARTHQUAKES shock North America. Helena Montana suffers severe damage, and New York City feels the temblors. GREECE ENDS ITS REPUBLIC and restores the monarchy of KING GEORGE II in a national plebescite. In Los Angeles, a Zoo's attempt to train two lions to tow the chow wagon is a fiasco as the BIG CATS MUTINY and rampage through the Zoo premises, wrecking the cart and a grand experiment.

Fidel Castro mobilizes 200,000 militiamen, charging America, with arming mercenaries for an "imminent invasion" of Cuba, on the eve of the U N debate of Cuban charges of American aggression. In Moscow, Khrushchev greets visiting Cuban journalists and throws his support behind Castro's charges.

SATCHMO SWINGS IN CONGO:
One of America's most extraordinary ambassadors, Louis Armstrong, arrives in the troubled Congo with his jazz band on a State Department-sponsored good-will mission, and receives a real swinging reception.

CANADA VIES FOR FASHION HONORS:
Canada bids for parity on the world fashion scene with the traditional centers of la ut couture, and an opulent collection shown in Toronto, ranging from sparkling sports wear, to the ultimate in evening elegance, is a stunning and convincing demonstration.

PITTSBURGH UPSETS SYRACUSE:
At Syracuse, the Orangemen, boasting the longest major collegiate winning string in football, are upset 10-0 by the underdog Pittsburgh Panthers in a hard fought but clearly decisive match.

NAVY DOWNS NOTRE DAME: At Philadelphia, Navy stays in the ranks of the unbeaten with a 14-7 victory over Notre Dame, sparked by the brilliant play by Joe Bellino who scores both of the Midshipmen's tallies.

QUEEN OPENS PARLIAMENT--POLARIS BASE ANNOUNCED:
In a ceremony vested with centuries-old pomp and pageantry, Queen Elizabeth opens Parliament, delivering from the throne a message setting forth the Government's program for the months ahead. Following the resplendent ceremony, the announcement is made that Britain is giving the United States a Polaris submarine base in Scotland.

ANTI-COMMUNIST RALLY IN CARACAS:
One hundred thousand Venezuelans mass in Caracas in a solid demonstration of support for the anti-Communist policies of President Romulo Betancourt.

JAPAN'S DEFENSE FORCE PARADES;
In Tokyo, Japan's small but mobile National Self-Defense Force parades in celebration of its tenth anniversary. Ambassador Douglas MacArthur 2nd is among those present as Prime Minister Ikeda takes the salute.

SHAH'S HEIR IS BORN:
Wild jubilation sweeps Iran following the news that Queen Farah has given birth to a son and heir to the nation's throne. By law, the crown can pass only to a male heir, and the Shah divorced two previous wives when no son was forthcoming. Now it's a time of rejoicing for all the nation.

SPORTS

BOXING: RINALDI OUTPOINTS MOORE:
Light heavyweight champ Archie Moore, one of the living legends of sports, loses his first fight in 4 years, to Guilio Rinaldl in Rome. The decision in the 10 round - no title event, goes to Rinaldi on the strength of a sensational finish in which Moore takes a count of 8 while on his feet!

STAG PARTY IN EVERGLADES:
Florida game wardens run down deer stranded in the Everglades by high water and bull-dog them from speeding airboats. The deer are wrapped in sacks to protect them from their own panic and brought to safety on high ground in a unique operation that's half round-up, half rodeo.

MINNESOTA DOWNS IOWA, 27-10:
At Minneapolis, unbeaten titans of the Big Ten clash. A tough Minnesota eleven stops the speedy Iowans, and moves into the Big Ten lead with a terrific 27-10 victory.

PRINCETON EDGES HARVARD, 14-12:
At Princeton, an Ivy League classic. In one of the most exciting Princeton-Harvard games in the history of the traditional rivalry, the Tigers, leading 14-12, barely stave off a Harvard conversion attempt that would tie the score.

TEXAS STOPS BAYLOR, 12-7:
At Waco, 50,000 fans see Baylor suffer a blow to its Southwest Conference hopes as the Texas Longhorns score twice. Only in the last four minutes does the Baylor attack click, but it's not enough and Texas wins, 12-7.

KENNEDY ELECTED!

John Fitzgerald Kennedy is elected President of the United States in one of the most suspenseful election battles since 1916. The defeat of the G.O.P. standard-bearer, Vice-President Richard M. Nixon, is not official until afternoon the day following election. Mr. Kennedy becomes the youngest man ever elected to the highest office in the land, and the first Catholic Chief Executive, shattering a long standing political taboo.
